Google’s lessons in dating: SEO and relationships

As you could read earlier today, Search Cowboys will (obviously) be covering SMX London 2010. This reminded me of a video I stumbled upon recently, from the SMX West event, that I really found to be a fun way of talking about PageRank and SEO. You might have seen it before but, if not, it’s surely worthwhile. I once wrote a blog post where I compared the whole sign-up process in email marketing with dating. Well, this one is not about email marketing but it sure is about dating.

In the video, Google’s Maile Ohye, who is responsible for the Webmaster Central blog, talks about ‘DateRank’.

Never heard of that? Well, it’s ‘PageRank for Singles’. Watch and learn from Maile’s presentation. And if there’s nothing to learn from an SEO viewpoint, there sure is from a “how do I captivate and engage a live audience” viewpoint. And maybe, just maybe, you can learn about dating…
