Google is going to promote YouTube on a bus

Google is not the company who usually uses offline advertising to get attention for their products. When that does happens it must be something special which is going on.

In the UK Google now starts advertising for one of their products: YouTube TV. It's the first time Google starts a traditional advertising campaign in the UK.

YouTube recently launched the option for UK viewers to watch  professionally produced full-length TV shows on YouTube. Many channel 4 shows are available for the viewers. Most clips are without advertising. They are being used to promote other shows like the X-factor.

The slogan "YouTube's got TV" is the slogan used in the campaign. The slogan can be seen on the sides of buses, inside underground trains and in full-page print ads in publications like newspapers. YouTube will also be doing something special in a London shop. Somewhere in London's West End visitors will be able to choose programs to watch on large screens.

Anna Bateson, the YouTube director of marketing says:

"We know that YouTube users enjoy the huge range of content on the site, but there's a growing demand in particular for full-length programming - so this campaign aims to tell our users that the full-length TV content has now arrived. The Shows section of the site is a major new opportunity for our partners and advertisers to reach new audiences."
