Massive cutbacks at Yahoo

Yahoo is significantly cutting its workforce. After the presentation of the quarterly figures last Tuesday the Internet-company announced that at least 10% of the more than 15,000 jobs will be cut.

Yahoo has recently been much discredited. Earlier this year it declined a takeover bid from Microsoft
from around 45 billion dollars. And also about the non-exclusive advertising agreement with Google deal the last word has not yet been said.

"I believe getting Yahoo more fit at this time will provide the flexibility necessary for navigating current conditions and strengthen our position for the future", says Jerry Yang.
