Find your World Bank data through Google

If you know how to use Google you can get a lot of statistics out of the search giant. But somehow that isn't always easy. Google probably recognized that and therefore decided to add a new feature to their option. 17 World Development Indicators are now available in Google search.

The option lets you access all sorts of data from many new different sources. If for example you search for "internet users in the netherlands" you will get results back showing that 86,8% of the population was online in 2008.

Clicking on the result will bring you to an interactive chart where you can compare the Netherlands with other regions around the world. The charts which are shown there can also be embedded anyplace you want.

You can find information on many different topics, not just internet users, but also for example GDP growth rate.

The Complete list of World Bank indicators currently available: CO2 emissions per capita, Electricity consumption per capita, Energy use per capita, Exports as percentage of GDP, Fertility rate, GDP deflator change, GDP growth rate, GNI per capita in PPP dollars, Gross Domestic Product, Gross National Income in PPP dollars, Imports as percentage of GDP, Internet users as percentage of population, Life expectancy, Military expenditure as percentage of GDP, Mortality rate, under 5, Population, and Population growth rate.
