Google rolling out Wave?

Wed 11 November 2009 11:00, Bas van den Beld

It seems as if Google is rolling out Wave to the bigger audience. They already announced to go broader then the happy few who got their invites a couple of weeks ago when they talked to developers and press two weeks ago in both London and Amsterdam but now they seem to be doing it quietly.

Google Wavers who are already using the service will find a message in their Wave inbox saying: "Invite others to Google Wave". Google stresses its still a preview their sending out, so its not the definite release of Wave yet, but Google is slowly opening up the service for the bigger audience. Google also indicates it could take a while before the invites will be sent, for now you can nominate.

  • People who were previously invited by Google for wave now have a 2nd round of invites in their inbox. Not 8 but 30! of invites. Definitely a signal that they are opening up to bigger audience collecting feedback about their frontend for the wave specification.
