Similar images in Google images

In April Google launched the 'find similar' option in Google images. This option then only could be used from Google labs. Now Google has "upgraded" this function to appear in everybody's Google images.

With this function you can find similar images to what you were searching for. This is especially handy when it comes to search terms which can mean more than one thing, like "Jaguar". In Google images you can click on “Find similar images” below one of the images to find other images like the one you were looking for.

Since the possibility was launched in Google labs Google has been working on refining the function. With feedback of the users within labs Google has now made the function pretty impressive. Within seconds you can now find similar images across the web.

Google changed the way it works with Google Labs back in April. Similar Images is the first major feature to "graduate", as Google puts it, from Google Labs since the changes.

Google is rolling out the function gradually so don't be surprised if it doesn't work for you right away.
