Belgians feel Google Earth might be a danger

The Belgian Defense department is looking into Google Earth to investigate whether or not the popular Google program is a safety danger.

The Belgian newspaper "de Zondag" reports that a special investigating group has been formed to see if they can find a 'structural and global solution for the danger that certain images on Google Earth can be for safety."

The Belgian Defense department apparently is afraid that everybody is able to look at military bases because through the satellite images on Google Earth. Similar questions were raised in the Netherlands and the US. There are even terrorists who are said to have admitted to the US government that they used Google Earth to prepare attacks.

The Belgian government is however also afraid Google Earth is being used by burglars to prepare their crimes. When the results of the investigation are being published is not clear yet.
