Google sending out trending industry tweets

Tue 22 September 2009 13:30, Editors

Google and Twitter will probably always be a love / hate relationship. Google would like to be indexing Twitter's database but Twitter won't allow that. Actually, they have 'nofollowed' almost every link on the site. Still, Google believes it should use Twitter.

Thats why Google launched several new Twitter accounts on Monday. All the Twitteraccounts are for the Google Industry Teams.

Google sending out trending industry tweets

The teams will be sending out updates about their specific industries. According to Google we can expect tweets like ""coupons" are up by as much as 95% year-over-year" or " is highlighting TV and movie previews with our Video Plus Box product in the search result". News-related and trending tweets therefore.

Could be useful for those in the specific industries, for the press and maybe even affiliates.

The teams are: AutoMedia and EntertainmentFinancial ServicesRetailTech, and Travel.
