SEO through Blogs & Feeds - SES London 2009

Running a blog and syndicating your content through web feeds can help your overall SEO efforts.

What has been told during this session confirms my opinion that Wordpress is the most SEO friendly blogging platform.

Maile Ohye, Senior Developer Programs Engineer at Google kicks off this session... Ladies first!

She tells us to make sure you submit your blog to Product Search. Webshop owners can submit detailed informations of their products. Don't forget to add images... they appear on the SERP's.

Sante Achille is a professional search engine consultant from Italy and is clearly a passionateWordpress fan.

He emphasizes that anyone starting a blog should choose his own domain name and host his blog on his own server.
Before leaving the stage, he gave us some valuable tips and tricks to keep in mind when configuring a Wordpress blog :

configure your url's : http://yourBlog.com/category/blogpost
In order to privelege your content use a template with a sidebar on the right
Make use of the available Wordpress plugins, but be careful and test them intensively
When updates are available... install them!
