A spammy Twitter account is targeting Twitter users trying to get them to click on a link which suggests they could find a job at Google there.

At The Next Web they first noticed the tweets which are sent out from different account, all heading to the same website, ajobwithgoogle.com. This site however is full of malware.... read more

Hardly any changes in European search shares

Even no news is news: Statcounter calculated that in the US the growth of Bing has slowed down when it comes to market share compared to other major search engines. Bing only grew 0,23% in the month of August.

In Europe there was hardly any movement at all in the market shares. Google gained a minor percentage (0,07%) which was won over Yahoo (0,06) and Bing (0,01). But the differences ar so small you can hardly call it a change.... read more

Getting down to Streetview business

Google is getting more and more serious when it comes to Maps and businesses. They added a nice little feature. You can now click through to the Street View section directly from a location you pointed out in Google Maps.

Businesses found on Maps can now in some cases have a Street View Link in the information. When you click on it you immediately get launched to the Streetview where a red marker will show the business.... read more

Twitter beats MySpace but Facebook beats Twitter

Social Media is hot in the UK. Facebook is the second largest site, Twitter is rising and even search terms have become more social.

Hitwise shows us that in July "Facebook" is the most clicked on search term in the UK. The search term accounted for 3,35% of all clicks.

Also, for the first time last week Twitter received more traffic than MySpace, though this has got more to do with the decline of MySpace than the rise of Twitter.... read more

The world is searching more (with Google)

Comscore yesterday announced the numbers which show that the global search market is growing. In last July we all generated more than 113 billion searches, which is an increase of no less than 41 percent compared to last year.

The  numbers show that Google is by far the biggest search engine in the world. They have a market share of 67,5 percent. Yahoo is still the second largest search engine with 8.9 billion searches performed (which is a market share of 7,8%).... read more
