Google testing Suggest in Germany

Google Suggest is not new in many countries. But as usual with products Google launches the US comes first and then comes Europe. That is not different with Google suggest. In Germany Google is now testing this feature to see if the Germans like it.

German blogger Michael Klix noticed the Suggest feature last week. Probably Google will test the feature for a while. If German users pick it up it will stay.

We all know that Jason Calacanis is a very smart business man. His business reputation has been built up by several successful ventures (think Weblogs Inc and Netscape). Yahoo decreases discount for UK agencies

Yahoo! is scaling down the discounts they are giving agencies in the UK starting January 1st 2009. Until now agencies which spent more than 80.000 pounds a month on Yahoo! get a discount of 10 percent. Starting January this will be cut back to four percent.

The UK agencies were informed this week through a memo send by the Yahoo UK-office. It stated that agencies spending over a 100.000 pounds would get a discount of 9 percent. Chances are that the reduction of the discount will only push agencies away from Yahoo even more.... read more

Brits don't understand search engines

Almost a quarter of all Brits believe that search engine results cannot be influenced by website owners. Almost the same amount of UK-residents believe that the order of the results is based on how much a website pays a search engine.

These are some off the results from the Online Search Matters Survey done in assignment off FastHosts. According to the research almost all Brits use search engines, but most of them "either have no idea or an inaccurate view of how online search results are determined".... read more
